Eligiblity
Candidates who have completed Xth standard are eligible for First Year admission, and those who completed XII Standard are eligible for Lateral Entry admission (Direct 2nd Year).Before the admission process begins, the required qualifications for admission in Polytechnic Colleges (such as Age, Marks required, Number of Seats in the various categories, etc.) are published in the leading dailies so that the students can decide their choice of Polytechnic Colleges, Course, etc. well in advance.

ADMISSION IN DIPLOMA COURSES
The candidates who pass X Standard or equivalent examinations with Mathematics and Science subjects are eligible for entry into Polytechnic Colleges. Special Reservation is given to the following category for entry in Government / Government - Aided Polytechnic Colleges:

LATERAL ENTRY ADMISSIONS
For Lateral Entry into the Second year (III Semester) of the three year diploma courses, the candidates shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Academic or Vocational) of 10 , + 2 pattern



ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE
The polytechnic admits both boys and girls. Reservation will be made as per the norms prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Admission of students under All India Quota and Orthopedically Handicapped are done under DOTE's special permission. Candidates are ranked on the basis of merit and reservation and they will be called for counseling / admission in the order of ranking. The branch will be allotted on the basis of their ranks under the respective reservation quota and the availability of seats at the time of actual counseling / admission
